JACKANAPE

Cavorting and cartwheeling around its intended victim, the jackanape is a spindly humanoid creature with brightly-colored fur and a manic expression. They distract their prey with their antics, leaving time to attack with a jaw that dislocates and allows them to swallow a man whole.

During the Great Monster Uprising of the Second Age of Magic, jackanapes were reported in the following regions: Flathead Mountains, The Gray Mountains, Antharian Caves, Mines of Mendon, The Coast Road in Greater Borphee, Tidal Flats, Fields of Frotzen, Forest of Youth, Gurth Woodland Trial, Miznia Jungle, The Lost Castle of Y'Syska, Grubbo Hills, Kovalli Desert, Mithicus Mountains, Egreth Castle, Bozbarland, The Lonely Mountain, The Old Lingolf House, Largoneth Castle, The Southern Wastes, and the G.U.E. Tech Training Grounds in the Ethereal Plane of Atrii.
