ARAGAIN FALLS

The Aragain Falls is the most breathtaking and awesome waterfall in the known lands with a drop of about 450 feet. The falls are found toward the northern part of the Frigid River where they pour out from a great dark cavern and through a sunlit canyon formed by the walls of the White Cliffs as they join the mighty ramparts of the Flathead Mountains. Upstream from the falls, deep underground is the White Cliffs Beach, and further upstream, the subterranean Flood Control Dam #3. At all times, a beautiful rainbow can be seen arching over the falls, joining both sides of the canyon where the White Cliffs on the east loom much higher than on the west. Downstream from the falls, the Frigid River branches into two directions, one curving westward to follow the White Cliffs through a deep canyon, and the lesser part of the runoff flowing southward to form the Frigid River Branch. To the west and south of the falls is the Dark Forest, stretching for miles around.

The Falls are quite dangerous and, despite a warning buoy, many adventurers raft off the falls to their deaths. Other stupid adventurers, seeking to prove the saying 'over a barrel', have been reported riding barrels over the falls. Their immediate demise was caused by meeting a number of unfriendly rocks and boulders at the bottom.

The falls were a favorite honeymoon spot during the 8th and 9th centuries, often called the Honeymoon Capital of the Great Underground Empire. The Tunnels of Love, only a stone's throw from the falls, as well as Lover's Trap were big tourist attractions before the fall of the Empire in 883 GUE. It was once visited by over three millions tourists each year.

Aragain Falls, in the Aragain Province, is 1 bloit south (GUH-95), 5 bloits east (GUH-90) of Flatheadia. It is also 14 bloits east of Port Foozle.
