WISKUS

No animal ever encountered in Quendor and its surrounding lands was as reluctant to greet the rising sun as the wiskus, which rouses even the heaviest of sleepers with its low pitch, complaining groan, which most find agonizing. The oddly-shaped wiskus is a common Westlands pasture animal bred primarily for its meat, which some say is an acquired taste. Wiskus-meat is the foundation of a large trade market in the Mareilon and Galepath regions, yet is shipped all over Quendor. The stubborn beast was a primary means of transportation in the Westlands until the invention of the automobile in thelate 14th or early 15th centuries.
