The legendary return talon operates much like boomerangs or
bad jokes; toss one away and it will come right back at you. But in fact, the talon was nothing more than a vulture's
fingernail. This weapon was able to "hook" an object and return to its
thrower with it. A primary use is making rope bridges: tie the rope to
the end, throw it (hope it encircles the designated object), and wait
for its return, then untie the talon and tie both ends of the rope
together.In the 17th century, the return talon was one of the many objects Rooper tried to market. It was also was an element essential to the reforging of the Nectus.
