I think it is just interactive fiction-inspired. But it was amusing to see, considering I am a constant watcher of Strongbad.

It's just the way the language in the text-game is made. Isn't that pretty Zorkish? And there's a flask, like in the White House, but okay maybe that's just considence.

But in Strong Bad's game, doesn't it tell you something to the effect of "Ye can't pick that up, as it is firmly attached to the wall, which is firmly attached to the dungeon, which is firmly attached to everything else." Or something?
