Status Wire, Week 4
A day in the life of Zork Grand Inquisitor

 

You are standing in a parking lot. To the south is a large white building.

There is a sign on the building.

Activision Studios

>enter building

You are standing in the entryway of an office building. There is a large glass door to the north, and a smaller door to the west.

There is a security card reader here.

>open small door

It's locked.

You are currently holding:
A security card
A watch
A "Spawn" ticket stub

>put security card in reader

You hear a click from somewhere inside the small door.

>open small door

You are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike.

You are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike.

You are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike.

You are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike.

You are standing in front of an office desk.

There is a big mess of papers on the desk.
There is also a computer on the desk.
There is a chair here.

>sit in chair

You are now sitting down.

>type on computer

Time passes...

You are getting very hungry.

>type on computer

Time passes...

You are weak from hunger.

A horde comes barreling down the hallway towards your desk. As they come closer, you can make out their features. They appear to be the Zork Team.

"Hey, we're going to Fast Taco. Wanna come?"

>join horde

You are swept up by the horde and end up eating at the badly misnamed "Fast Taco". After lunch, you are deposited back at your desk.

>type on computer

Time passes...

A game designer appears at your desk.

>designer, explain "mesa" puzzle

The designer gives you a quizzical look, then scampers away.

>type on computer

Time passes...

>examine watch

The watch says "9:45 PM"

>sleep

You fall into a peaceful sleep at your desk, secure in the knowledge that tomorrow will be another day of programming and lunch. A small strand of drool extends from your open mouth to the big mess of papers on your desk.
