Torches of the Endless Fire are magicial. The flaming ivory torch never extinguishes on its own, however external causes, such as submerging it beneath water will douse it. When relit, its fire will once again burn endlessly.
One of these torches was part of the Treasures of Zork. Another was found on display in 949 GUE in the Steppinthrax Monastery's museum, and was used by an unknown female pilgrim to ward away grues when she entered the catacombs.
