Solis, named after King Sol of whose wife was Queen Luna, is the fiery sphere which provides light to the world of Zork, also known as the sun. Since the foundation of the kingdom of Quendor, hot debates have raged as to whether the sun revolves around Zork, or if Zork revolves around the sun.
Solis goes through ten phases throughout the year, the most drastic changes occurring between Ottobur and Dismembur of each year. These phase changes include, Full Sun, New Sun, and Half-Boz Sun.
In alchemy, Solis is the symbol of passion and hot temper.
