TEMPLE #1 Mine car runs into flames. NEMESIS Burn, baby, burn. [earlier alternate] Hot in the city. Hot in the city to-night.	Burn, baby, burn. Get used to the heat.
TEMPLE #2 Mine car runs into wall. NEMESIS (dryly) Look out for that wall.	Ooh. Look out for that wall. You make such an attractive Flathead.
TEMPLE #3 Mine car runs off cliff. NEMESIS (dryly) Geronimo. [earlier alternate] I've fallen and I can't get up.	Geronimo. To infinity and beyond!
TEMPLE #4 Mine car runs into lake and sinks. NEMESIS Don't take the car! You'll kill yourself. [earlier alternate] You should have told me you felt like swimming. I would have brought my trunks.	Sink or swim, my fool. Sink or swim. Don't take the car! You'll kill yourself!
MONASTERY #1 Player is eaten by a grue if she tries to enter darkness without a torch. NEMESIS Feel like a snack?	Feel like a snack? Perhaps you feel like...dinner?
MONASTERY #2 Player is burned to death if she advances down fire corridor without shield. NEMESIS You should know better than that. In this day and age, always use protection -- or you're gonna get burned. [alternate text] Smokin'!	Perhaps you need thicker skin, fool. Smokin'! Perhaps if you weren't so thin-skinned.
ASYLUM #1 Player tries to use shorted-out electrical keypad without desiccated hand. NEMESIS Oh, that's gotta sting.	How shocking! Did you need a hand with that? Ow! That's gotta sting!
CASTLE #1 Player fails to shield the Thaddium in time. (radiation) NEMESIS Mom always said not to sit so close to the T.V.	Mom said not to sit too close to the TV. You've got that special glow.
CASTLE #2 Player fails to place the TED in the tank in time to remove the Thaddium from the TED and to return it to its safe container. (explosion) NEMESIS You really blew it this time.	You blew it this time.
CASTLE #3 Player continues into alchemy lab without the protective suit found in the tank. (radiation) NEMESIS You know what they say -- the suit makes the man.	You know what they say -- the suit makes the man!
CASTLE #4 Player removes too many rods for too long and creates a melt-down. NEMESIS Oh, that's gonna leave a bruise. [earlier alternate] You're worse than Homer Simpson.	Fool. You're worse than a sorcerer's apprentice! Oh, that's gonna leave a bruise.
CONSERVATORY #1 Player fails to escape the whirlpool in the submerged room and is drowned. NEMESIS I'm the sole survivor. [alternate text for this scene???] Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...	Just when you thought it was safe...
END GAME #1 Player foolishly drinks Elixir of Life. MALVEAUX Sucker. [alternate text for this scene???] All right, all right -- Elixir of Life, Elixir of Death -- let's not quibble over details.
END GAME #2 Player doesn't have ring and is killed by grues when she is sucked through the sand floor. MALVEAUX (sarcastic) I've fallen and I can't get up. [alternate text] NEMESIS (like Silence of Lambs) S-s-s-s-lurp! [alternate text] announcer...And -- Oh! Right into the sand trap. There goes the big bucks, ladies and gentlemen. You know what they say. (calling after)
END GAME #3 Player waits too long and is eaten by grues even though she does have the ring. MALVEAUX You snooze, you grues.
END GAME #4 Player frees the balloon instead of jumping into it and is pulled to her death. MALVEAUX Careful. That first step is a doozy.
END GAME #5 Player is too slow getting from the boat to the last alchemy lab; earthquake kills her.
END GAME #6 Player burns Alexandria's body; temple collapses on player.
END GAME #7 Player doesn't solve last alchemy lab before eclipse. Ceiling lands on her.
END GAME #8 Player fails to click on the altar in time and is killed by Sophia. SOPHIA I've been wanting to do that for a long, long time. [alternate text] I know. I'm such a bitch. [alternate text] Hey -- it's a bitchy job. But someone's got to do it.
[misc text -- I am uncertain precisely which scenes these go to, but most are probably variants of the temple collapsing end games] [#1] MALVEAUX Then he huffed, and he puffed, and he blew the house down. [#2] Ding dong, the witch is dead. [#3] MALVEAUX Duh. [#4] Hey. No glove, no love. [#5] Ah, plate tectonics. What a pleasant diversion from our usual gratuitous violence. [#7] Ashes, Ashes -- they all fall down. [#7] (drily) You know what they say -- You can never be too rich or too thin. [#8 version 1] (malicious laughter)- You'll have plenty of time to get used to the heat, where you're going. [#8 version 2] Get used to the heat, fool. Where you're going, there's nothing but fire. [#8 version 3] Get used to the fires, fool. Though I've heard, where you're headed, its not the heat -- its the humidity. That -- and the putrefaction.	They're expecting you-- in Hell. You know the rules. No glove, no love. Close but no cigar. Looks like you're on the wrong path.
