GREAT
UNDERGROUND AQUEDUCT
Located near the Shadowland, Royal Museum, and the lower level of the
Dungeon of Zork, the Great Underground Aqueduct was large and
impressive; the major method of water transport in the Empire.
Supported by counterless mighty stone pillars and arches, this
monumental water system crossed over tremendous underground chasms and
burrowed through walls of rock.
After the Fall of the Empire in 883 GUE, the source of the aqueduct's
water, a waterfall, dried up. And long years without proper maintenance
caused this engineering marvel to begin to crumble from age. It was not
until 948 GUE, when a portion of the system that crossed a large chasm
was demonlished by a massive zorkquake, that the aqueduct was forever
sundered.
