Hi!
Yep . Have just discovered Zork and am working through Nemesis.
T have put the mold into the correct place. I have got the right "optimum iron temperature" with the "ding" that goes off.
I have moved the arm so there is a glowing symbol AND operated the fans afterwards. End result time and time  again is a still glowing symbol. I can't move forward to touch it, click it, can't pick it up, If I move back it cools but falls off the arm and disappears!!!!! Start again time.
I expect I am being totally thick about something but is it a glitch? as with that bell rope.
I operate Windows XP and had the bell rope prob. but was quick enough for it.
Totally fed up - can't see an answer anywhere and am sure have got things in the right order - or have I?

I have not experienced this myself, however I do not run XP. The game appears to have small glitches when run on XP however it still runs pretty well. If you are still having trouble, try installing on 2k or 98 load your save, do it then put your saves back on the XP machine. I wish I could help.

What should happen though
I thought I would cool the glowing thing which would be the symbol, with the fans and then be able to take the symbol from its arm thing
is that so - cos if it is - then I have  a game glitch and its not me!!!

Walkthrough:
"Use the mold machine to make the Murz symbol you saw on the dungeon wall. (It's the symbol for "male.") Take the mold and go down the elevator. Turn right and press the reset button on the panel, then press the six buttons on the left-hand side. Walk forward to the machine and insert the mold. Press the ARM button, then press the FAN button when it takes out the symbol. Walk forward and touch the symbol."

Thanks  thats what I have been doing - except the rotten symbol never stops glowing so I cant move forward to touch it.Rats!!!!

im sorry... :-{ maybe you can do as I mentioned previously with a different system, or just go and finish off the other areas and then use a saved game from someone like myself at the last area so you can atleast finish the game.

Thanks - I haven't access to a machine with 98 or 2K.
I have only the one saved game which is at Irondune
The tank doesn't seem to work in reverse order to take me back to the castle area.
I have done the Asylum , and the Monestary and up to this end part of Iron Dune.
but not the Conservatory area and of course not the end of the game.
Have you a saved game that would be OK for me.
sorry to be a bother. I have been trying once again to get the blooming thing to stop its glowing!!!!!

I have saved games yes, so I guess just use them to play the conservatory and then load up the point at which you are at the table with the metal and ready to finish the game. I will email it to you.

The one good thing about the rotten glitch on the game is that I have found this site as I hadn't realised there were other games to follow.
Bit behind with this one I think.
Although I play other stuff - I had been a fan of the Myst Riven Exile series.

OK - how do I use these saves, or get them to work - never had to do before!

just open the nemesis dir. and BACKUP, copy the saves directory, then simply put the files from the zip in that folder and bam!

Have opened the Nemesis folder on the "c" drive. there is no BACKUP.
Cant even find my game as a save anywhere in this folder.
Have searched  also.

open the nemesis dir. there should be a directory with your saves in it... its not in a folder called backup, I meant the saves dir.

Hi there.  Nope! that woz foxing me !! Cos I had already brought your saves over to my Nemesis folder , I couldn't find where my one save had gone to. I woz searching for a save file within the Nemesis folder, but they just get plonked direct.
By sticking yours direct into  the Nemesis folder . I then can launch the game once direct from one of your your saves. It then freezes ' cos of the XP. I can then relaunch the game from "run" and have access to your saved game under its number on the restore screen & it plays fine. once it transfers the files as such.
So
all is OK now . Have found the conservatory cheers!
Lets hope you get a bit of peace from me now.
