I'm having exactly the same problem. I've tried running the game on windows 98 and 95 with the program compatibility wizard (my computer runs on XP) and the game works fine up to that part. I just can't get the iron object. Can't zoom in, touch it etc as in Bev's post above. It's as if it's not there and when I move back it drops and vanishes. Is there a patch or could any kind soul give me a save that has gone past that point?

I asked Data Angel for some saves which he kindly gave, so if anyone has the same problem in the future send me a message and I'll email them to you.
