Changes to all settings will take effect immediately unless otherwise stated.

Auto detect DVD drive - Automatically detect the DVD drive. The detected drive will be displayed in the drop down list box if this option is enabled. If this option is disabled, select from available drives in the drop-down list box. Changes to this option will not take effect until MGI SoftDVD MAX is restarted.
Allow Window Size Reduction - Allows Viewer to be smaller than the default size. Changes will not take effect until MGI SoftDVD MAX is restarted.
Always Start Full Screen - Always start with Viewer maximized. Changes to this option will not take effect until MGI SoftDVD MAX is restarted.

This control is available when SoftDVD Max is in playback mode. Not supported by some video cards.
Brightness - Use this control to adjust the brightness of the video. The values of this control range from Darkest (left) to Brightest (Right).
Color -Use this control to increase the intensity of the color of the video. The values of this control range from Least Intense (Left) to Most Intense (Right).
Default - Sets the factory default values for Brightness and Color.

Parental Control is a feature supported by some DVD discs. If available, the DVD disc may be played only if its rating is the same as the MGI SoftDVD MAX setting or lower. Change the parental level by selecting from the available choices.
The first time you increase the parental level, you will be prompted for a new Parental Control password. The "None" setting does not require a password.

You must supply this same password every time you wish to increase the Parental Control level.
G- General Audiences. All Ages Admitted.
PG- Parental Guidance Suggested. Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children.
PG-13- Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13.
R- Restricted, Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent Or Adult Guardian.
NC-17- No One 17 And Under Admitted.
Change Password- Press to change the parental control password.

Stereo- 2 channels stereo output.
Surround Sound- 2 channels Dolby Pro-logic enabled output.
3D Audio- 4 or 6 channels output, only for supporting hardware.
Dolby Headphones- 5.1 channel, speaker-based simulation through conventional headphones.
Use DirectSound - Use Direct access to sound hardware in your computer. Changes to this option will not take effect until MGI SoftDVD MAX is restarted.
Generate S/PDIF Output - Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format. Generate S/PDIF Output - Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format. Generate sound packets in S/PDIF format (Requires special sound card or hardware decoder. See your manuals for details). Dolby Digital and Dolby Surround support the S/PDIF standard. MPEG audio formats and LPCM may not be supported by your S/PDIF device. The volume control will be disabled if this option is enabled. This option is not available in all versions. Changes to this option will not take effect until MGI SoftDVD MAX is restarted.
Speed up decoding via subsampling - Use lossy audio decoding. Changes to this option will not take effect until MGI SoftDVD MAX is restarted.
Vocals Off- Turn both vocals off.
Vocals 1- Turn left vocals on.
Vocals 2- Turn right vocals on.
Both vocals- Turn both vocals on.

Note: Karaoke features require DVD discs authored for DVD-specific Karaoke features. Karaoke features not available in all releases of MGI SoftDVD MAX v4.0.

Region - A code identifies one of six world regions for restricting DVD-Video playback. Every DVD disc, player and DVD-ROM drive includes a regional code. A disc without regional codes will play in all players in all regions.
Region 1- USA, Canada
Region 2- Europe, Japan, S. Africa, Middle East, Egypt, Greenland
Region 3- Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong
Region 4- Australia, South America, Central America, Mexico, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Caribbean.
Region 5- Most of Africa, Former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, India, North Korea, Mongolia
Region 6- China (excluding Hong Kong)
