A New Zork Fan

Post by Lilly »

I'm a new ZORK fan.  I've completed the first three originals.

Where should I go from here?  Is there any specific order I should attempt these now?

...any advice for a new Zorky?

yours.

Theres also beyond zork and zork zero don't forget! After that you can probably start the graphical games like Return to Zork, Nemesis and Grand Inquisitor.

And don't forget The Undiscovered Undergroud, the text prequel to Grand Inqusitor.  And the Enchanter Series.

There's lots of Zork stuff remaining.

And Wishbringer.  And if you can find them, there is the Choose-Your-Own Adventure books, and the full length novels.  I strongly recommend the novels, as they are a good read.

Yes, there is just so much freakin stuff. I wish I was born a decade or two earlier so I could've collected it. :(

Well, think of it as being born in the decade that Zork was revived ;) (hopefully)

Hi!

Well if you're in the text mode, go for the Enchanter series. My favorite of the text-based.
Then you will simply have to try Zork Grand Inquisitor.

Of course that is just IMHO. :)

I modified because I hit the post button before I made my smilie. Not that anyone cares, but I felt the need to put that here.

I have to agree with Fantine.  The Enchanter series was my favorite too.  Of those, my personal favorite was Sorcerer.

Hey there,

I'd try RTZ first up if I were you - It feels true to the originals and is also, coincidentally, a bloody good game.
