You can access this directly from your web browser and don't need a news server or anything like that.

If this link doesn't work you can get there step by step by first going to http://groups.google.com and then selecting rec., then rec.games. then rec.games.int-fiction.

That group is all about playing IF games.  There is another one called rec.arts.int-fiction which is about writing interactive fictiion.  There are some very knowledgable and helpful people in both groups and they are very courteous to newcomers.

My guess, regarding the posting about a Zork 4 by Activision/Infocom is that it is just talk.  We've heard these kinds of rumors before.  But still, it's interesting.

I get really really pissed "RAAAAH!" whenever I accidently click reset...I wonder why that button's there. I also get pissed when my connection dies after I click post so all my stuff is gone.

It is probably just talk.  And it is not clear at all if the so-called Zork 4 is a reference to a 4th graphic adventure or a 4th text adventure.  My guess would be a graphic adventure, because Beyond Zork came after Zork 3 in the text adventure series.  But there have only been 3 graphic adventures so far.

Maybe Zork:THE is where these rumors are actually coming from.

Hmm, I do find it interesting how many emails I do find myself getting from people asking when Z:THE will be out. I wonder if Activision has gotten wind of this, I am sure they have by this point. I wonder if they'll approach us with an offer when we are farther along with the project. Makes me wonder and hope!

Ive been checking Activisions' site for years and was really pissed when they didnt even post the game as their own.

ZGI is one of my favorite games ever, along with most of the other ones, and they really should make a sequal. If they dont I will buy the rights from them personally and make one when I become a Game designer.
