Help with installing on Windows Vista

I followed the guide word for word and created the various folders and edited the .zix files, but it still won't play. :(

At first, I got an error that said: 17004:C\zork\eng\MAIN.CPP, line 231: Couldn't open file "nemesis.zix"

I went through and double-checked and saved the .zix file again (this time using Notebook instead of just renaming the file), and I get no message...it just crashes. Says it encountered an error and has to shut down.

I am a fair noob to computers...not to using them but to all the programming and lines and .dll and such.
