Transcribing Zork

Need to sharpen your sword? Or perhaps your lantern ran out of fuel? Well come on in, drink some rye and let Jack sharpen your blade and fill that lantern!

Transcribing Zork

Post by daveyJ »

Desperately seeking help from a wise Mac User / Zork Lover...

I am looking for a way to save the transcripts of an entire playing session. I have downloaded the Mac OS9 version bu there is no back-scrolling and no way to cut and paste.  In the original version (I played it on my Atari 400), it would use the "script" function and dump directly to a printer as you played.  This would be fine too, if the hack exists.

Any thoughts?

If you simply want to record what you type, there are keyloggers that will do that for you. There are also versions that will grab the info on the screen in realtime. I don't know what is available for the Mac, though.

Have you tried typing 'transcript'?

That should open a dialog box which allows you to name a file that all of the text will be streamed to.  I'm not sure if this is native to z-code or a property of the z-code interpreter.
